Vince Flynn was born on the 6th April 1966 in Saint Paul, Minnesota USA and was a writer specializing in political thriller novels. Flynn is best known for writing the “Mitch Rapp” book series, which contains 12 books overall – all of them entered the list of the New York Bestsellers. He was also a consultant for the television series “24”. Flynn had been active in the industry from 1997 to 2013, when he passed away.

To begin with, the boy grew up in Saint Paul in a big family with six siblings, matriculating from Saint Thomas Academy and graduating from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. After completing his university degree, he worked for Kraft Foods as a specialist in accounting and marketing. In 1990, he left to become a pilot candidate in the US Navy, but he was medically disqualified as a future airline pilot, because of dyslexia since his childhood. He was apparently terrified by the written words, and decided to overcome this handicap by committing himself to reading and writing on a daily basis. He soon came up with an idea to write a book – “Term Limits” (1998) – which was subsequently listed on the New York Times Best Seller list.
Since 1999, he has been writing novels for the “Mitch Rapp” series. The main character Rapp grew up in Virginia; his only remaining family member is his brother, Steven Rapp, and his wife Anna Rielly was a reporter who worked as a correspondent for NBC in the White House but became a victim of an assassin attempt. The first book of the series was “Transfer of Power” (1999) which appeared in 13th place of the New York Times Bestsellers list. Providing the fact that the author had a contract for six novels, all of which entered the Bestsellers list, the contract was extended for four more books. Thus, the legendary “American Assassin” was released in 2010, which also entered the list of New York Bestsellers. Overall, 12 books in the “Mitch Rapp” series have been released, the last book of the series was “Kill Shot” (2012). At the beginning of 2008, the author and CBS Corporation signed contract for creating a film “American Assassin” based on Vince Flynn’s novel of the same name, released in 2017, directed by Michael Cuesta and starring Dylan O’Brien and Michael Keaton.
Finally, in the personal life of Vince Flynn, he lived with his wife Lysa, his two daughters Ingrid and Ana and his stepdaughter Dane in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 2011, Flynn was diagnosed with prostate cancer, from the consequences of which he died on the 19th June 2013.
