Iron Sheik Net Worth $50,000

Iron Sheik spent his childhood in Iran, where initially he was not only an amateur wrestler, but also the bodyguard of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and his family. As an amateur wrestler, Iron participated in competitions to become a part of the Iranian Greco-Roman Wrestling team, and as he won, Iron’s wrestling career began participating in the Summer Olympics in 1968, held in Mexico. After the Olympic Games ended, he moved to the USA, and became an assistant coach of the US wrestling team which participated at the Olympic Games in 1972 held in Munich, Germany.

After this initial success, he was invited by Verne Gagne to join his American Wrestling Association, to become a professional wrestler. Iron Sheik immediately accepted his call, and assumed the ring name The Great Hossein Arab. Under that moniker he won his first title, fighting in a tag team with Texas Outlaw, for the Canadian Tag Team Championship. Before the 1970s ended, Iron fought against Bob Backlund for the WWF title, but lost in a match that lasted for more than half an hour.

He left the WWF in 1980, and joined the NWO, but returned to WWF in 1983, and soon won the WWF Heavyweight Championship title, defeating Bob Buckland, which increased the overall size of his net worth by a large margin. However, he lost the title a month later to Hulk Hogan, who then continued to dominate the WWF in the next four years.

To speak further of his accomplishments, Iron Sheik won the IWA United States Heavyweight Championship once, and the WWF Tag Team Championship with Nikolai Volkoff. Furthermore, he was the NWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight champion one time, and also won the NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Championship with Bull Ramos. During his career, he has developed several moves for which he has also been recognized, including “Iranian Drop”, and “Camel Clutch”. Thanks to his accomplishments, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.

Apart from his successful career as a professional wrestler, Iron is also recognized for his acting career. He made his debut appearance in the film entitled “The Tale of the 3 Mohammads” (2005), and later he starred in “Operation Belvis Bash” (2011), alongside Corey Feldman and Daniel Baldwin. All of these contributed a lot to his overall net worth. Regarding his personal life, Iron Sheik has been married to Caryl J. Peterson since 1976. They are the parents of three daughters; the oldest one was murdered at the age of 27. They also have five grandchildren.
